BERLIN – Route 113 claimed another life last weekend when a man drove off the highway and struck a utility pole and other objects before overturning.

Shortly after midnight last Sunday, Maryland State Police troopers from the Berlin barrack responded to a single-vehicle accident on Route 113 just south of Lambertson Rd.

The first-arriving trooper discovered a Chevrolet Impala was traveling south on Route 113 had left the roadway and flipped before coming to a stop. Witnesses told police the Impala had been traveling between 60-65 mph and for an unknown reason drifted off the roadway before colliding with a telephone pole and a brick pillar before overturning at least one time.
