Thursday, May 1 – Berlin Fills Planning Dept. Holes

BERLIN – The town of Berlin has at last hired a new Superintendent of Planning and Zoning.

Chuck Ward will leave his position as a planner with Wicomico County’s planning office to join Berlin’s staff as Planning Superintendent in 30 days.

The town has also hired Rachel Bomar to fill the new Deputy Administrative Director position created this year to assist Administrative Director Linda Bambary.

Both positions were advertised twice to generate suitable candidates.

Berlin has gone eight months without a Planning Superintendent. Stacey Weisner, the previous superintendent, left in August 2007. Consultant Tim Bourcier has filled some of the superintendent’s duties in the interim.

Both new employees will begin working for Berlin on May 27.
