Partnership Site Announced
SALISBURY -- The Peninsula Regional Health System, which recently broke ground for a new 25,000-square-foot building at the Woodbrooke Medical Center complex in Salisbury, has announced that Peninsula/NRH Regional Rehab, a physical rehabilitation partnership between the Medical Center and National Rehabilitation Hospital Ambulatory Services (NRHAS), will be located at the Woodbrooke campus. NRHAS is an affiliate of MedStar Health, which includes National Rehabilitation Hospital, one of the nation's top hospitals for medical rehabilitation. NRHAS has a network of outpatient centers located in the Washington D.C. area that offer a wide array of physical medicine services.
The Peninsula Regional building at Woodbrooke is being designed as a dedicated 'one stop' musculoskeletal campus providing treatment options for patients with musculoskeletal injuries. Peninsula/NRH Regional Rehab will occupy approximately 3,600 square feet of the new building and will feature a state-of-the-art rehabilitation center. The center will be staffed by physical therapists, occupational therapists and athletic trainers. All will be working collaboratively to provide patients with comprehensive physical and occupational therapy services, sports medicine, hand injury care and therapy, treatment of general musculoskeletal injuries, injury prevention and performance enhancement. The Peninsula/NRH Regional Rehab team will work closely with Occupational Medicine and the orthopaedic surgeons of Peninsula Orthopaedic Associates, P.A., who are also relocating their practice to the Woodbrooke Medical Center.
In addition to Peninsula/NRH Regional Rehab, Peninsula Regional's Woodbrooke campus will also feature Peninsula Imaging, LLC, a partnership between Peninsula Regional Medical Center and Peninsula Radiology Associates. On site lab services will also be available. 'The Woodbrooke complex will be the only one of its kind on the Delmarva Peninsula, bringing a full complement of musculoskeletal services to patients on one convenient campus,' said Cindy Lunsford, vice president Ambulatory & Professional Services at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.
The Woodbrooke Medical Center complex is located on Woodbrooke Drive, near the intersection of Route 50 east and Tilghman Road. The Peninsula Regional Health System expects its new musculoskeletal campus at Woodbrooke will be open for patients in the fall of 2008.
