Monday, February 11 - OC Boat Show To Mark 25 Years

2/08/2008 | By Staff Writer

OCEAN CITY - The 25th Annual Seaside Boat will celebrate its silver anniversary with this weekend's show at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center.

Held annually to coincide with Presidents Day weekend, one of the largest holiday weeks of the offseason, the event will take place on Friday, Feb. 15, noon-6 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 16, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 17, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults and $1 for children.

The event is sponsored by the Ocean City-Berlin Optimist Club, one of the area's leading civic organizations comprised of 121 members who work in the year to raise money to provide activities and programs for area youth.

Approximately 120 exhibitors will be featured including marinas, marine publications, local fishing associations, fishing tournaments and much more.

One of the highlights of the event is the annual raffle. North Bay Marina and Scott McCurdy for the last 22 years have donated a Sweetwater Pontoon Boat with motor as the raffle's grand prize.

All the proceeds from this year's event will benefit thousands of young people in the area.
