A fan dropped another of one of these so-called expert lists in the mail to the old guy after last week's take on the top movies of all times. This list, courtesy of TV Guide, ranks the top TV shows of all time. Insider, being an expert on all things, particularly TV, took note, and in many cases exception.

Here were the top 10:

1.    Seinfeld

2.    I Love Lucy

3.    The Honeymooners

4.    All in the Family

5.    The Sopranos

6.    60 Minutes

7.    The Late Show with David Letterman

8.    The Simpsons

9.    The Andy Griffith Show

10.    Saturday Night Live

The old guy only thinks Seinfeld, I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, 60 Minutes and the Andy Griffith Show should have made the top 10. To include the late-night television talk shows is wrong and causes so many worthwhile shows to be left off the list. No compilation of top shows would be complete of top television shows without the likes of MASH, Cheers, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, Law & Order and The Bob Newhart Show. Some of Insider's other favorites include The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Cheers, Nightline, the original Law & Order, Frasier, The Rockford Files, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, Bonanza, The Bob Newhart Show, Twin Peaks and Taxi.

Insider got invited to a housewarming party the other day, and it occurred to him this is the first invitation he has received in 10 years. It seems invitations have come a long way. This one featured colorful ribbons, fancy type, an email address, specific directions, food choice and something called BYOB. The old guy got to wonder why he was not invited to these types of shindigs more often, but then he realized he would not be caught dead at this kind of party and perhaps that's why.
