BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity track team was well represented at the state championship meet last week at Morgan State in Baltimore, collecting several top 10 finishes in different events in the Class 3A competition.

Brad Hollowell placed third in the Class 3A pole vault competition while Matt Allenbaugh placed fifth. In the boys' high jump competition, Decatur's Max Hulme placed fifth. James Wells came in ninth in the boys' 110-meter hurdles, while Cordonte Ayres finished seventh in the boys' 200-meter dash. Decatur's lone female representative in the state meet, Bradley Janson, finished third in her preliminary heat in the 400 before coming in ninth in the finals.

The state championship meet last weekend culminated another successful season for the Decatur track teams this spring. Three weeks ago, both the Seahawk men's and women's teams swept the Bayside Conference Championships. Three weeks ago, the teams fared well in the Class 3A-East region meet to qualify several individual athletes for the state championship meet at Morgan State last weekend. The boys' team finished seven among the 14 teams in the regional meet, while the girls' finished 13th.
