Stephen Decatur High School recently received a $750 grant from the Exxon Mobile Educational Alliance program and the Ocean Petroleum Company. Ocean Petroleum representative Trish Connell presented a check to the school that was spent on science equipment. Above, Senior Andrew Murrell uses a spectroscope, purchased with the grant money, to examine noble gases in Fran Brittingham's Advanced Placement chemistry class.
