Worcester Girls Improve to 3-0

9/24/2010 | By News Editor, Shawn J. Soper

BERLIN- Worcester Prep's girls' varsity soccer team remained unbeaten this week, routing Salisbury School, 10-0, on Tuesday to improve to 3-0 on the young season.

The Mallards continued their early assault on the scoreboard against the Dragons on Tuesday, while the defense led by goalkeeper Abbie Tyler kept Salisbury School at bay. Thus far, Worcester has outscored its first three opponents of the season by a combined score of 22-0, including an 8-2 win over Salisbury Christian last week and a 4-0 win over Gunston in the season opener.

The Mallards got scoring from all over the field in the 10-0 win over ESIAC rival Salisbury School on Tuesday. Mary Clare Regan and Lillian DiNardo each score twice, while Kristen Shriver, Alex Bruder, Alissa Talbert, Meredith Soule, Katelin Talbert and Frankie Willing each added single tallies. Worcester began a tough stretch of four road games in a row against Saints Peter and Paul yesterday in a game played too late to be included in this edition. They don't have another home match until an October 13 rematch with the Sabres.
