At the Salvation Army 2010 Red Kettle Campaign Kick-Off Celebration, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines-Ocean City was presented the 2009 first place Bell Ringer Award in the club or organization category for collecting over $8,000 in the 2009 campaign. Every year Kiwanians ring the bell for holiday collections at the Wal-Mart on Route 50 and will do it again this year. Stephen Decatur High School junior Mya Taylor, senior Courtney Coleman, junior Jacqueline Saldana, and senior Chrissy Aperance are headed to perform at the half-time show at this year's Citrus Bowl in December.
