Big Drama in Flag Football Playoffs

OCEAN CITY- The second round of the Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department’s Fall Flag Football League took a dramatic turn this week when Kirby’s Pub upset top-seeded and unbeaten Seacrets, 18-13, on Monday. Seacrets finished the season with an 8-0 record and the top seed in the playoffs, but Kirby’s sent the regular season champs back to the loser’s bracket. Soper Sports Editor Cadets Finish Season Unbeaten BERLIN- The Berlin Cadet Dolphins youth football team last week beat the Salisbury Terps, 18-13, to capture the Salvation Army “Red Shield” League championship and finish the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record. OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Adult Winter Indoor Soccer League is getting ready to resume with an organizational meeting set for Monday, November 29, at Northside Park at 6:30 p.m. The highly competitive league includes teams from all over the region. BERLIN- The unbeaten Berlin Junior Dolphins youth football team picked up in the playoffs where they left off, beating the Salisbury Terps, 27-7, on Monday to advance to the league championship game. BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ varsity basketball team got off to a fast start last week, routing visiting Wye River Upper School, 48-7, to open the 2010-2011 campaign. The young, but deep Mallards jumped all over Wye River early, building a 13-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and extending it to 24-4 by halftime.
