In celebration of Earth Day 2011, Grow Berlin Green partnered with local students to produce original artwork to promote the benefits of recycling. All fifth through eighth grade students from Berlin area schools were eligible to enter by submitting original work of art that promoted recycling and was made primarily from recycled or recyclable materials. All entries were displayed at the Globe's upstairs gallery, and were judged by local artists who selected the winners. Pictured, from left, are Lily Belle Baker, first place fifth grade winner, and Spencer Carbaugh, best overall winner.
