OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department’s Fall Flag Football League tightened up this week with five teams now within a game of the lead in the standings.

After six weeks, Kirby’s Red Onion and the FOP Lodge 10 are tied for first with 4-1 records. Lurking close behind is Buxy’s at 4-2, while the Eastside Mafia and Kirby’s/NAS are just a game back in the standings at 3-2. The following are some of the highlights of this week’s featured game:

(bullet) FOP 26- Eastside Mafia 20-Double OT: Dennis Eade hit Tim Bokinsky on a six-yard TD pass to put the FOP up 7-0. Eastside Mafia responded with a 45-yard TD pass from Ron Strickler to tie the game at 7-7, then went ahead on a 26-yard TD pass from Strickler to Jake Southards. Eade evened the score with a TD pass to Mike Richardson to tie the game at 13-13.

In the first overtime, Ease hit Bokinsky to put the FOP up, 20-13. Eastside Mafia responded with a 10-yard pass from Strickler to Kyle Swayngim to tie the game again at 20-20, forcing a second overtime period. In the second OT, Eade hit Todd Speigle on a 10-yard TP pass to put the FOP up 26-20. The FOP’s Andrew Yeager then intercepted the Eastside Mafia to end the game.
