OCEAN CITY- After seven weeks, the FOP Lodge 10 stands alone atop the Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department’s Fall Flag Football League with four teams lurking close behind just a game back.
The FOP improve to 5-1 this week with a 20-13 win over Tequila Mockingbird, but four teams, including the Eastside Mafia, Buxy’s, Kirby’s Pub/NAS and Kirby’s Red Onion are each just a game behind in the standings at 4-2. The following are some of the highlights from this week’s games:
(bullet) FOP 20- Tequila Mockingbird 13: Dennis Eade got the FOP on the board first with a six-yard TD pass to Justin Hoban, but Tequila Mockingbird pulled even on a 25-yard TD pass from Chase George to Brett Wiley. The FOP got another touchdown on a two-yard pass from Eade to Cory Gemerek to make it 13-7, but Tequila answered again on a seven-yard scoring strike from George to Jason Eade. Finally, Dennis Eade hit Mike Richardson on a nine-yard TD pass to secure the 20-13 win.
(bullet) Eastside Mafia 25- Kirby’s Red Onion 12: Eastside’s Ray Taranto threw two touchdown passes to Jake Southards and one each to Scott Dailey and Adam Rones to lead Eastside to victory. Chris Boland threw a touchdown pass to Chaz Parker and ran for a TD to account for Kirby’s Red Onion’s points.
