PRMC Employees Contribute $151K To United Way

SALISBURY -- Peninsula Regional Medical Center recently presented United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore with a check totaling $151,000, representing employee contributions toward United Way’s Annual Community Campaign.  

The hospital is currently ranked #2 in United Way’s prestigious “Top 25” local business campaigns on the Lower Shore.

 United Way Board Vice President for Wicomico County, Ginny Reid-Matern, commends the employees for their efforts this year by sharing.

“We continue to be humbled by the outpouring of support shown by Peninsula Regional’s employees.  Many staff worked tirelessly to advocate for the United Way and make this year’s campaign an overwhelming success,” Reid-Matern said. “We are grateful for the PRMC family serving our neighbors every day in their work place, and their continued compassion for our community through their generous United Way support.”

The United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore provides critical support for neighbors in need in Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, and Dorchester counties.  The organization, which is the largest non-governmental source of funding for area nonprofit agencies, provides support for 60 different local programs with a special focus on the impact areas of educational opportunities to help children succeed, financial stability for those in crisis, and health care for our aging and vulnerable populations.

This year alone, the United Way has impacted the lives of over 100,000 people on the Lower Shore by providing over $1.4 million in funding to 26 local agencies.
