BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s 10th Annual War on the Shore wrestling tournament got underway today at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center for the second year in a row with some of the top high school wrestling programs in the mid-Atlantic and all over the country converging on the area for the two-day event. Banks Finishes Strong in Hawaii

OCEAN CITY- Local trainer and runner Corrine Banks turned in a strong performance at a prestigious world championship race in Hawaii last weekend, finishing in the top 100 among the nearly 700 competitors from all over the world including a top three in her age group. Banks, a single mom who works as a personal trainer, fitness instructor and nutritional consultant among other things at WOC Fitness in West Ocean City, competes in regional and national events from 5K to 10K races to trail races...READ MORE

Worcester Girls Take Lumps Early

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s young, but talented girls’ varsity basketball team took some early lumps, losing its first three games of the season, all of which were on the road. The Mallards are extremely young with no seniors and just three juniors on the roster this season to go along with four sophomores and three freshmen. BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s boys’ varsity basketball team got off to a good start this week, beating North Dorchester, 69-55, on the road on Tuesday. Fishing Community Loses Local Treasure

OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City community lost a fishing legend and local treasure last weekend when Captain Bob Gowar, who had trolled the waters in and around the resort area for decades, passed away at the age of 73. Gowar, who most recently captained the “Bay Bee” out of the Ocean City Fishing Center, died last Saturday, December 3.
