BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity track teams turned in strong performances again in their latest meet last week, with the girls finishing second and the boys finishing third.

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity basketball teams got swept by Wicomico in home and road games on Tuesday with the boys getting routed by the Indians, 71-45, and the girls losing another tough one, 61-59, in overtime.

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ basketball team beat Gunston, 58-51, last Friday to improve to 7-6 on the season.

OCEAN CITY- Registration is ongoing for the Coastal Lacrosse Club’s 2012 spring season, but the teams are filling up quickly, according to club officials.
The Coastal Lacrosse Club, founded in 2009, offers organized, instructional teams for both boys and girls ages five to 14. The Twisters Women’s Gymnastics team last week competed in the 27th Annual Hills Classic Invitational in Prince George’s County and turned in a great team performance and several outstanding individual performances. OCEAN CITY- Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officials this week confirmed a 23-pound tautog caught by a Philadelphia man aboard the “Morning Star” back on January 11 was a new state record for the species.

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur football standout running back D.J. Kee last weekend officially committed to Lehigh University to continue his academic and athletic career next year.
Kee, a first team All-Bayside selection following his senior year last fall, led the conference with 1,675 rushing yards and 24 touchdowns. In December, Kee also represented Decatur at the Maryland Crab Bowl, a showcase of the top senior players in the state for recruiters.
