The Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore awarded HALO (Hope and Life Outreach) $2,000 from the Biron Wicomico County Fund to support the conversion of an empty lot on the property of the HALO Day Center property to an organic garden called the Harvest of Hope Project, which hopes to provide fresh food for the HALO guests and clients. The Optimist Scholarship Lotto winners received their checks at a recent meeting. Jeffery G Bauer won $75,000 and Katherine A Cioccio won $15,000. Proceeds from the lotto will be awarded to college ready seniors from Stephan Decatur High School. The Optimists Have awarded $1,500,000 in scholarships over 24 years from lotto proceeds.
