SNOW HILL -- Law enforcement agencies this week are investigating the discovery of human remains in a water-filled ditch in Snow Hill.
On Sunday, an unidentified individual reported to the Snow Hill Police Department the discovery of possible human remains in a water-filled ditch at the end of Woodland Court in Snow Hill. Snow Hill Police responded to the area and located a human skull in the ditch, and the rest of the body approximately 20 yards away in the same ditch.
Members of the Worcester County Bureau of Investigation (WCBI) made up of personnel from the Maryland State Police, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office and the Berlin Police Department, along with a member of the MSP Homicide Unit, responded and conducted an investigation. Assistance was provided by the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, the Snow Hill Police Department, the Snow Hill Fire Company, the Snow Hill Public Works Department, the Worcester County State’s Attorney’s Office and members of the Maryland State Police Crime Lab.
Tfc. Scott Zink responded and organized a grid search of the woods in the area where the body was recovered. The remains were sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification.
