Decatur Harriers Finish Strong at Baysides

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity cross country teams turned in strong performances at the Bayside Conference Championships last week with several Seahawks finishing among the top runners. Seaside 10 Gets in Before Storm

OCEAN CITY- Before Hurricane Sandy started arriving in the resort area last weekend, the 20th Annual Seaside 10 and associated 5K were held in Ocean City with hundreds of runners participating. Over 500 runners competed in the annual events last Saturday with 260 in the 10-mile race and another 284 in the 5K race. BERLIN- Several of Stephen Decatur’s fall sports teams’ forays into the state playoffs were put on hold this week by Hurricane Sandy, which caused cancellations of games throughout the Eastern Shore and across the state. Decatur’s boys’ varsity soccer team entered the state Class 3A-East region tournament as the number-two seed and earned a first-round bye. BERLIN- The Delmarva Elite Lacrosse Sharks will be holding tryouts for its under-13 and under-15 teams in December. The tryouts will be held at the Salisbury University Stadium on Sunday, December 2. BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity football team lost to Wicomico, 19-6, last weekend, effectively ending any hope of advancing to the state Class 3A-East tournament this year.
