BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's girls' basketball team took its first loss of the season on Tuesday, falling to visiting James M. Bennett, 60-31, after spotting the Clippers a huge early lead.
Bennett jumped out early and led the Seahawks, 19-0, in the first quarter before Michelle Wangel got Decatur on the board. The aggressive Clippers prevented the Seahawks from getting anything going on offense and led 40-8 at the half. Decatur played much better in the second half, but the damage had been done and Bennett rolled to the 60-31 win. Leann Flounlacker led the Seahawks with nine points.
