BERLIN- Worcester Prep's boys' varsity basketball team rebounded from one of its most lopsided losses in recent memory this week with a 41-24 win over visiting Seaford Christian on Tuesday.
The see-saw early season continued this week for the young Mallards, whose record now stands at 2-3 after the first week. Worcester got by a scrappy Seaford Christian team, 41-24, at home on Tuesday to somewhat erase the lingering bad feelings from last Friday's 61-19 pasting at the hands of old rival Salisbury School.
Worcester opened the season with a 55-38 loss to Holly Grove in November before rebounding with a narrow 37-36 win over Greenwood Mennonite last Tuesday. The Mallards dropped a pair late last week including a 44-28 loss to Salisbury Christian on Wednesday and the 61-19 demolition at the hands of Salisbury School last Friday before getting back in the win column against Seaford Christian on Tuesday.
Worcester hosts its Invitational Tournament tomorrow before a pair of road games next week against Delmarva Christian and Chincoteague to close out the first half of the season before the holidays. Looming on the schedule when the Mallards return from the break is a January 7 rematch against Salisbury School at home.
