BERLIN- The arrival of October this week signals the start of another Breast Cancer Awareness month, turning many things around the resort area pink in honor of the survivors and the ongoing effort to fight the disease, including the shirts on the backs of the Stephen Decatur boys' soccer teams next week.
Stephen Decatur's boys' varsity and junior varsity soccer teams will be sporting pink uniforms on Monday during a double-header with James M. Bennett at home. The Seahawks are getting into the spirit of Breast Cancer Awareness month with the pink uniforms, which should be a start contrast to their usual blue and white combos.
The junior varsity game is set to get underway at 4 p.m. on Monday with the varsity expected to take the field shortly after the conclusion of the first game, likely around 5:30 p.m. Throughout the two games, volunteers will be collecting donations and selling popcorn to fans with the proceeds going to the local breast cancer support group Women Supporting Women.
