SALISBURY- Over 200 young anglers turned out last weekend for the annual Youth Fishing Derby at the Salisbury City Park sponsored by the Wicomico Recreation, Parks and Tourism Department.
Just about everything from a 15-inch snapping turtle to a 16-inch bass were caught during the event as young anglers throughout the region competed. Ryan Driden caught the most fish for a boy (26), while Summer Martin caught the most fish by a girl (20). Christian Aravanis caught the largest fish, a 16-inch bass, while Taylor Corron brought in the most unusual catch, a 15-inch snapping turtle. The Most Outstanding Fisherman award went to Jonah Corry, while Logan Jarrett, just one year old, was the youngest angler.
