Seahawk Harriers Excel in Home Meet

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity cross-country teams acquitted themselves well at the meet they hosted last week with several runners in both the boys’ and girls’ fields finishing near the top of the standings.

On the girls’ side, Lauren Buckman finished seventh overall out of the field of 68 runners from all over the Eastern Shore. Alex Saunders was 12th overall, while Alex Tushup was 16th, Jordan Klebe was 20th and Calais Rodriguez was 28th.

On the boys’ side, 103 runners competed on the Decatur cross country course, which includes some hills around the Berlin landfill in preparation for the regional and state championship meets on the other side of the Chesapeake later this month. Nick Molitor finished 10th overall, while Dan Winters was 17th, Jake Gaddis was 18th, Noah McAleer was 20th, Kyle Kelly was 21st and Kevin Herbert was 26th.
