OCEAN CITY- Last weekend's 28th Annual Mid-Atlantic Surf Fishing Tournament was a huge success with 84 teams competing and 688 qualifying fish caught.
For the record, the MUQU team, made up of surf anglers from Rehoboth and Washington, D.C. took first place in the tournament with 132 total points. The largest fish caught by the MUQU team was a 17-and-a-quarter inch bluefish landed by angler Jim Peel. The Fish Hogs took second place with 80 points, while the Hook, Line, and Sinker team took third place with 78 points.
The tournament was held up and down the beach in Ocean City for the 28th year. Eighty-four teams participated this year, setting up camp on their assigned beaches on Friday and Saturday. This year's event was a far cry from last year, when inclement weather washed out the fishing days and each of the teams that signed up shared first-place honors.
