Dolphins Trounce Dover, 39-0

BERLIN- The Berlin Junior Dolphins of the Salvation Army 'Red Shield' youth football league remained unbeaten and retained their stranglehold on first place this week after routing the Dover Destroyers, 39-0.

The Junior Dolphins improved to 7-0 with the systematic demolition of the Destroyers last week. Berlin scored on its first four possessions with touchdown runs by Colton Lohnas, Collin Gaynor and Sam Coates, and a touchdown pass from Justin Meekins to Tyree Adams. Even the defense got in the high scoring act when Ernest Shockley recovered a fumble and returned it 35 yards for a touchdown.

Berlin completely dominated the first half on both sides of the ball and took a 33-0 lead into intermission. In the second half, the Dolphins added to their lead on a touchdown by T.J. Scarfone to wrap up the scoring at 39-0. Meanwhile, the Dolphin Youth Cheerleading Squad is still accepting sign-ups. For more information, visit the team's website at www.BerlinFootball.org.
