WEST OCEAN CITY- Young wrestlers from the Eastern Shore Intensive Wrestling Club, based in West Ocean City, have been making some noise at several major tournaments across the region thus far this early season, placing in several age and weight classes and bringing home more than their share of hardware.
The Eastern Shore Intensive Wrestling Club, under the direction of Coach Keith Tobin and his staff, provides young wrestlers in the area with training and mentoring all year long in an effort to provide them with a foundation for future success in the sport. Throughout the year, the club’s wrestlers travel all over the Eastern Shore and beyond to compete in various regional tournaments and state competitions.
In October, the young local wrestlers enjoyed success in every event in which they participated. At the Bouts on the Bay in Kent Island three weeks ago, Jagger Clapsaddle of West Ocean City took first in his bracket, while Michael Dougherty took third and Anthony Caruso took fourth. At the Beast of the East Tournament in Wilmington, Clapsaddle took fourth in his bracket, while Caruso brought home a third-place finish. Clapsaddle earned a second-place finish in Bel Air last weekend, while Noah Reho of Ocean Pines brought home a first-place finish at a tournament in Bethesda last weekend.
