4/27/2012 | By Shawn J. Soper, Sports Editor

BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s girls’ varsity lacrosse team stayed on a big roll this week, sweeping three games to remain unbeaten and improve to 10-0 on the season.

Last Wednesday, the Mallards routed ESIAC rival Salisbury School, 20-4, at home. Kaitlin Talbert led the Worcester offensive attack with four goals and an assist. Cynthia Delaney added two goals and an assist, while Lily DiNardo scored two goals. On Saturday, the Mallards continued their winning ways, edging Calverton, 13-11, at home. In a rematch with Salisbury School on the road on Monday, the Mallards snuffed the Dragons again, 18-2.

With the three wins, Worcester improved to 10-0 on the season and continued to dominate opponents for the most part. The Mallards have scored 148 goals in 10 official games, for an average of nearly 15 goals per game. Meanwhile, the Worcester defense has equally impressive, allowing just over six goals per game.
