BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity baseball team stayed on a roll this week, edging visiting Washington, 4-3, on Monday for their third straight win and fourth out of the last five.
Decatur scratched out a close win over Washington on Monday, 4-3, in a tight, well-played game. Runs were difficult to come by for both teams as the Decatur and Washington starters continually squashed big rally opportunities with the help of some solid defensive plays. In the end, the Seahawks scratched out one more run and beat Washington, 4-3.
The win was the third in a row for the young Seahawks, who beat Wicomico, 5-2, last Friday and demolished Mardela, 23-1, last Wednesday. After a 10-0 loss to Bennett to start the season, the Seahawks have now won four of their last five. Decatur plays Parkside on the road this afternoon before getting a rematch with Bennett on the road on Monday.
