Friday, June 18--Art's Alive Festival To Celebrate 10th Anniversary

6/18/2010 | By The Dispatch Staff

OCEAN CITY -- Art's Alive celebrates its 10th year of
offering fabulous fine arts in the beautiful setting of Ocean City's Northside
Park on Saturday and Sunday, June 19-20. Admission is free.

From the moment you arrive, you will discover the perfect
setting for an art show - winding paths around a beautiful lagoon with a
decorative bridge. Stroll along the path to see beautiful works in the artist
tents. Browse through 100 artist tents, listen to the sounds of live
entertainment and enjoy lunch at the Artists' Café.

Children can participate in free educational and artistic
activities while parents shop for art treasures.

Painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, ceramics,
glass, printmaking, mixed media, fiber, furniture, jewelry and fine wood are
among the fine art categories. All artwork is available for purchase. Artists
compete for $5,250 in prizes awarded to the 'Best in Show' and seven other
categories.

Northside Park is located on 127th St. and the bay. Show
hours are Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A
special opening ceremony in recognition of the 10th anniversary of Art's Alive
will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The ceremony will include entertainment by
the Delaware School of the Arts Steel Drum Band, several 'guest artists,' an
anniversary cake and a blue ribbon cutting to open the show.
