BERLIN- Berlin's Little League teams enjoyed a great week last week with a team of Rookie League All-Stars winning a tournament in Fruitland and the Cardinals taking the local Rookie League title.
The Berlin All-Stars went undefeated in the Fruitland Little League All-Star Tournament, going a perfect 4-0 to win the championship. The Berlin All-Stars swept four games in the tournament culminating with a dramatic 7-6 win over host Fruitland in the title game after jumping out to a 7-6 lead.
Back at home, the Cardinals of the Berlin Rookie League won their championship tournament, going 3-0 to capture the title. The Cardinals, who went 12-2 on the season, beat the Marlins and Tigers to reach the championship game and topped the Nationals for the trophy.
