BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity volleyball team got mixed results in the first full week of the season, beating Easton, 3-2, in the season opener on the road last Thursday before falling to Kent Island by the same score on Tuesday.
The Seahawks fell to Kent Island, 3-2, in five sets on Tuesday. Alexis Martinek had a team-high 26 digs, Casey Ortiz had 14 assists, Katie Van Bruggen had six kills and Taylor Black had six aces. After starting with two matches on the road, the Seahawks return home for a pair of matches against Pocomoke and Wicomico.
