Sarah's Pantry Receives Grant Through the Maryland Food Bank
Sarah’s Pantry at the Shepherd’s Nook is an outreach ministry of the Community Church at Ocean Pines. Although they regularly purchase food from the Maryland Food Bank, they recently received a grant through the Food Bank and received additional food to supplement the staples they make available to those in the community. Sarah’s Pantry has been able to help about 75 families per month (an average of 215 individuals). Sarah’s Pantry is open Wednesday through Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Pictured, from left, are Roy Betts, Ken Waters, Frank Phillipi, Judy Chuvala, Bryan Mertz and Chairperson Cheryl Mertz.
