Students in all schools in Maryland take part in service learning/volunteer activities as part of a graduation requirement. As part of the Berlin Intermediate School Dolphin Team's Service Learning Project, 6th grade students collected trash from the beach in Ocean City and recorded the data to be used in a public service announcement. As part of their Service Learning project, BIS Dolphin team students will be using the data to develop public service messages for the community about the harmful effects of trash on our beaches.
