County Commissioners Recognize Severe Storm Awareness Week
The County Commissioners presented a proclamation to Emergency Services Director Teresa Owens recognizing April 12-16 as Severe Storm Awareness Week and urged all citizens to become better prepared to face emergency situations that could arise in their communities. Owens said forecasters are predicting an active hurricane season this year with 11-16 named storms, 6-8 hurricanes and 3-5 major hurricanes.
