SALISBURY- James M. Bennett’s varsity baseball team last weekend completed another perfect season and captured the state Class 3A championship for the second year in a row.
The Clippers ran the table last year, going a perfect 19-0 to win the state title. This season, Bennett picked up where it left off, running the table in the regular season and sweeping four straight against tough teams from the western shore in the state playoffs to earn a return to the state title game. Last weekend, Bennett beat North Harford, 4-2, in the 3A title game to repeat as champions. The Clippers beat Hammond, Northeast, Reservoir and La Plata in the playoffs to earn a date with North Harford in the title game.
