Chetelat, Witherow Heading to States


BERLIN- Fresh off a strong showing in the Bayside Conference cross-country meet, two Stephen Decatur harriers will compete in the state meet at Hereford High in Baltimore County tomorrow.

Stephen Decatur's girls cross-country team won the Bayside Conference meet last week, finishing first among the participating teams with a combined time of 1:46:11, led by Lindsay Chetelat, who finished first at 19:03. In the men's Bayside Championships, the Seahawks finished second as a team with a combined time of 1:30:20. Mitch Witherow led Decatur, finishing second overall as an individual with a time of 16:28.

Chetelat and Witherow, who led the Seahawks all season, will represent Decatur at the state championship meet in the Class 3A division tomorrow at Hereford High in Baltimore County.
