Seahawk Boys Run Win Streak to Seven

10/19/2012 | By Shawn J. Soper, Sports Editor

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s boys’ varsity soccer team continued its recent domination this week, beating a tough Parkside team on Monday after a 19-0 thrashing of county rival Snow Hill last Wednesday.

The Seahawks’ record now stands at 9-2 after extending its winning streak to seven games. Decatur hasn’t just been squeaking by during the streak, they’ve been punishing opponents with a high-powered offense for the most part. During the current seven-game run, the Seahawks have outscored their opponents by a remarkable 52-5.

Included in the streak is the 19-0 shellacking of Snow Hill, along with a 13-1 win over Crisfield and an 8-2 win over Mardela. The Seahawk defense has certainly done its share, recording three shutouts during the run and allowing just one goal in three of the other games. Decatur wrapped its regular season yesterday with a road game against Bennett in a game played too late to be included in this edition.
