BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity football team got shut down by Kent Island last week, falling to the Buccaneers, 25-6, to fall to 2-3 on the season.
The Seahawks scored first when quarterback Tyler Hartrim dashed 38 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, but that was as close as they would get to the end zone the rest of the way. Decatur only amassed 60 yards of total offense the rest of the way as Kent Island pulled away for the 25-6 win.
The loss was the third straight for the Seahawks. After opening the season with two wins against Rising Sun and Washington, Decatur has now fallen to North Caroline, Queen Anne's and Kent Island. It doesn't get any easier for the Seahawks, who hit the road for a game tonight against Bayside rival and now state Class 3A-East rival Bennett.
