OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department’s 24th Annual St. Patrick’s Soccer Tournament concluded last weekend after hosting over 150 teams from all over the mid-Atlantic region for the last month.

From modest beginnings, the annual tournament has grown by leaps and bounds over the last two decades and is now one of the largest events of its kind in the region. The 2012 event, which began back on February 24, this year hosted over 150 boys, girls and adult teams competing in 12 division for the last four weekends at Northside Park.

Last weekend, the tournament concluded with the signature men’s and women’s adult over 18 divisions. In the men’s division, the local Bull on the Beach took the title, beating River SC, 5-4, in the championship game. On the women’s side, the All Night Long team won the title by beating Prestige Worldwide, 3-2, in its championship game.

Hi Shawn,

Thanks for putting some coverage of the St. Patrick's Soccer Tournaments over the past couple of weeks. They were a huge success with 172 teams. A lot of these teams travel here to OC for the tournament. What a great boost for our local economy in the off season. Thanks again for the coverage.
