OCEAN CITY - Three masked gunmen remained at large in the resort area as of late yesterday after an armed robbery at a downtown hotel early Thursday morning.
Around 5:45 a.m. yesterday morning, Ocean City police responded to the Americana Hotel downtown for a reported armed robbery. Hotel employees told police around 5 a.m., three masked individuals brandishing handguns entered the lobby and stole money and property from the hotel and the desk clerk. The suspects then fled from the hotel in an unknown direction. The desk clerk was not injured.
The suspects are described as three African-American males all with thin builds. All three were wearing white-colored masks with the eyes and mouths cut out. Anyone with information is urged to contact OCPD Dfc. Shawn Jones at 410-723-6604.
