OCEAN CITY -- Ocean City Police this week are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery and assault in the resort two weeks ago.
Around 11 a.m. on Aug. 21, two individuals walked into the Public Safety Building in Ocean City to report an armed robbery that had occurred earlier in the morning. The victims told police around 4 a.m., they were sitting in a vehicle on the bayside near the south side of 44th Street with the windows rolled down.
The victims told police two unidentified assailants approached the vehicle with their shirts pulled over their heads and began yelling and demanding money from them.
One of the assailants produced a tire jack and struck the driver twice in the head. The passenger then gave the armed robbers his wallet containing a credit card and his driver’s license. According to victim testimony, the two assailants then ran from the scene, got into a silver Honda Civic hatchback and drove past the victims on 44th Street before heading south on Coastal Highway.
Based on the information received from the victims, the suspects are both believed to be adult males, possibly Hispanic. Ocean City Police are asking anyone with information about the armed robbery to contact the OCPD Criminal Investigation Division at 410-723-6604.
