Sunset Marina Wins Bragging Rights

7/27/2007 | By The Dispatch Staff

The team of boats from Sunset Marina in West Ocean City last weekend earned bragging rights around the fishing community for the next year after capturing the 13th Annual Marina Shootout for the second straight year. The annual event pits teams from area marinas against each other in a two-day tournament with cash and prizes as well as bragging rights on the line. Sunset Marina won the event last weekend behind a strong showing by the 'Pumpin' Hard,' which weighed a 163-pound bluefin tuna and a 153-pound bluefin. The 163-pounder was caught by local angler Laura Johnston. Pictured above, the crew on the 'Pumpin' Hard' unloads a big bluefin at the docks at the Ocean City Fishing Center on Sunday. This week, young anglers will get their chance on the big stage with the Ocean City Marlin Club's 3rd Annual Kid's Classic.
