OCEAN CITY- As a result of one of the best seasons ever for the Greene Turtle boys' lacrosse team, featuring many of the top young high school players in the area, has been invited to participate in the prestigious Dick's Tournament of Champions National Invitational in Tampa early next year and the club is holding a fundraiser next Tuesday at the original Greene Turtle in Ocean City to help finance the trip.
The cost of the trip including entry fees, travel expenses, lodging and food is expected to come in at around $30,000. To that end, the original Greene Turtle on 116th Street in Ocean City is hosting a fundraiser next Tuesday to help finance the trip. The event will feature a complimentary buffet, draft beer, silent and Chinese auctions, a 50/50 raffle and many other giveaways and prizes including a live auction hosted by Mitch Scott of Great Scott Broadcasting. In addition, a unique Great Blue Heron hand-carved by a renowned local decoy artist will be raffled off.
The event is set for Tuesday, November 18, at the Greene Turtle on 116th Street from 6-10 p.m. A donation of $10 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under will help the cause. For more information, call the Greene Turtle at (410) 723-2120.
