BERLIN- Worcester Prep’s boys’ varsity basketball team edged visiting Central Christian, 49-45, on Monday to close out a perfect first half of the season at 7-0.
The Mallards defeated Central Christian in their last game before the long holiday break before they return to action on January 4. In the first half of the season, Worcester ran the table, beating Holly Grove, Greenwood Mennonite, Chincoteague, Salisbury Christian, Greenwood again and Holly Grove again last Friday.
Against Holly Grove last week, Matt Reilly scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Zander Farr scored 15 points and grabbed seven boards. Scott Gee contributed 14 points. Against Central Christian on Monday, it was Ryan Nally leading the way with 17 points, while Reilly pitched in 12.
