Decatur Wrestlers Sweep Two Matches

BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s varsity wrestling team started the second half of its season on a roll last week, beating Kent Island, 46-21, last Wednesday before thrashing always-tough Reservoir, 56-15, on Saturday.

The Seahawks traveled to Kent Island last Wednesday to face the Buccaneers and prevailed, 46-21, with wins coming from all over the roster. Picking up wins for Decatur in the Kent Island match were Nate Rosenblatt (106), Ethan Mariner (113), Jonah Crisanti (119), Alford Hardy (126), Dakota Roderick (132), Alex Schiffer (145), Kailin Patterson (152), Andre Borradaile (160), Jeff Evans (171, Ethan Eibl (185), Adam Bargar (195), Luke Bargar (220), and Ryan Kail (285).

On Saturday, the Seahawks took on Reservoir, a team Decatur has established a rivalry with in recent years, and cruised to the 56-15 victory. Collecting wins in the Reservoir match were Logan Smith (126), Hardy (132), Roderick (138), Schiffer (145), Jermaine Powell (152), Patterson (160), Evans (170), Adam Bargar (195), Luke Bargar (220), and Kail (285).
