OCEAN CITY- The Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department this week announced a new director for its annual Ocean Bowl Skate Camps has been named to lead the popular summer events.
The recreation and parks department this week announced Gary Smith has been named to lead its skateboarding camps at the skate park on 4th Street in several sessions this summer. Smith has been skating for 18 years including the last seven as a professional. He has been featured in over 60 major skateboarding magazines and is currently skating for Hoodlum Skateboards, Ergophobia clothing and Krux Trux among others.
Smith loves teaching young skateboarders and has been giving private lessons for eight years. He owns a skateboard shop in the Baltimore area and is looking forward to leading the camps in Ocean City this summer. The camps are for boys and girls, agest 6-17, of all abilities. They are held in three sessions, although the June session is already sold out. The remaining sessions are set for July 6-9, and August 10-13. The camps are held on Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon. For more information, contact to the OC recreation and parks department at (410) 250-0125.
