BERLIN- Stephen Decatur's varsity baseball practically swept the Bayside South post-season honors when the awards were announced this week with a co-Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year and Coach of the Year.
Seahawk senior centerfielder Paul Stortini was named co-Player of the year along with Parkside High's Seth Illian. Bennett was the heart and soul of a very good Seahawk starting rotation throughout the season. Of course, managing all the talent Decatur had the season was no easy chore and Seahawk manager Rich Ferro was also recognized with as the Bayside South Coach of the Year.
