Up and Down Week for Decatur Girls

9/14/2007 | By News Editor, Shawn J. Soper

BERLIN- It was an up and down week to begin the season for the Stephen Decatur girls' varsity soccer team, which beat Easton in its season opener last Wednesday, 6-0, and fell to visiting Parkside, 4-0, on Monday to start the 2007 campaign with a 1-1 record.

Decatur opened the season last Wednesday with a 6-0 win over Easton to jump out to an early 1-0 record. On Monday, the Seahawks had the tables turned on them with a 4-0 shutout loss to another Bayside Conference rival in Parkside.

In the opener against Easton, Bethany Howe and Alex King each scored two goals apiece, while Bradley Janson and Charlotte Deck each added single goals. The Seahawks hit the road for the first time on Monday with an away game against county rival Snow Hill.
