Tuesday, May 15 - Ocean City Prepares For Cruisin' Weekend

5/11/2007 | By The Dispatch Staff

The 17th annual event attracts 3,000 hot rods, street rods and custom cars each spring, but thousands more come to town to unofficially take part in the event.

Coastal Highway is transformed for the event back in time, as car enthusiasts show off their prides and joy. The highway's sidewalks are often filled with onlookers checking out the hot rides.

This year's officials activities include Allstate's Your Choice Auto Cruisin' Parade along Ocean City's Boardwalk on Thursday and Friday mornings, and Saturday's brand new Allstate Patriotism Parade. Allstate will present Saturday night's concert at the Convention Center featuring The Temptations with special guests The Funsters, brought to you by the Ocean City Hotel Motel Restaurant Association.

The Temptations live concert will also benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. Dennis Gage, star of SPEED TV's 'My Classic Car' television show will be a special guest and Ken Osmond, TV's •€˜Eddie Haskell' from the classic 50's sitcom 'Leave it to Beaver', will be on hand. Both guests will be available for autographs and photos
